Show Notes

A panel of distinguished investors – Marisa Drew, Chief Sustainability Officer at Credit Suisse; Max Gottschalk, Founding Partner of Ocean 14 Capital; Meredith Shields of Sorenson Impact Foundation; and Kunal Doshi of Capricorn Investment Group – discuss how global investors, from asset managers to endowments and family offices, are increasingly focused on putting capital into ventures aimed at improving society while also creating sustainable long-term returns for shareholders. These impact investors (all McIntire alumni) are redefining what it means to make a “successful” investment by prioritizing not only doing well but also doing good. They share with Prof. Maillet how this rapidly emerging investment space is integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals with traditional financial return metrics. The views and opinions expressed on the Global Commerce Exchange podcast are those of the guests and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
